Ani's Home

We lost our daughter Ani to Lupus a few days after her 12th birthday. The virtual world of the Internet helps to keep her moments alive and share them with others. The Developing Tray

…My desire to spend hours in the darkroom disappeared with Ani. I tried many times, but pictures of trees, dogs, or unknown people do not excite me as much. My favorite model is gone. Of her I can only take pictures of a grave, as the seasons change around it.
… This morning, I was in the darkroom checking a backpack to take on an upcoming trip to Portugal. I was looking for my 1950’s Canon rangefinder. I found it in a camera bag I had not used since last summer. There was film in it. My heart missed a beat. Or two. Could it be…?
… There were 4 frames exposed to the face I loved. As she came to life in the developing tray, I mixed a few salty tears to fix the picture. In my memories. And on paper.
The picture is added to the photos linked to this page, for all of us who want to see a “new” picture of Ani.
